Silica bricks, as the name suggests, are mainly composed of SiO2( mass percent is above 93%). High temperature performance of silica bricks mainly depends on SiO2 content, impurity content, mineral composition and so on. The higher SiO2 content, the higher refractoriness of Silica bricks. Mineral composition of silica bricks are tridymite, cristobalite, residue quartz and glass phase. Silica bricks properties are closed related to SiO2 crystalline phase transformation.

Silica bricks are mainly used in the partition wall of carbonization and combustion chamber of coke oven, heat storage chamber and slag chamber of steel blast furnace, even heat furnace, glass melting kiln and ceramic firing kiln, also used in the high temperature bearing part of hot blast furnace and acid blast furnace roof.
